PVB Filaments

PVB 3D Printing Filament, also known as Polyvinyl butyral (PVB), is a special 3D printing filament that can be layer smoothed. This is one of the reasons why it is loved by the 3D makers.

PVB can be printed similar temperatures to those of PLA and PETG. Usually, PVB filament requires a nozzle and bed temperature of around 215 °C and 70 °C, respectively, which makes it compatible with most 3D FDM/FFF printers in the market.

PVB doesn’t require any specific hardware to print well making it versatile. It is intrinsically transparent, which is ideal for making objects where light needs to pass through. PVB is considered moderately strong for a thermoplastic but is weak relative to materials like steel and PVC so choose your application wisely!
